SUPERINTENDENT'S ELECTION. A Voice from the WpasT- Coast. To the Editor of the Nelson Evening Mail. Sir— l have been given to understand that Mr O'Conor is likely to have the support of some 300 voters in Nelson. Is this a fact ?.: If so, it vrill be a lasting disgrace to the, 1 province. What ! place -him at the head of affairs ? Surely not; /has it come to that crisis that, the Nelson people are unable to 5 find a better man than Mr O'Conor as Superintendent: J Why, they cannot be alive to their own interests if such is the case. I am no ..particular supporter of the Curtis Government, but I say (as the good book says) of two evils choose the least. When Mr O'Conor arrives in Nelson he will tell you that he has the suppoit of the whole of the Coast, I say don't believe him, he has no such thing; his actions in the great land squabble and the education question havenever been satis-^ factorily explained yet.
