Artizans* Association.— -Members of this Association are requested to meet this evening orrbusiness of importance. Volunteers.— The membeis of tbe various City Compauies will parade in the : Botanical Gardens to-morrow evening, at 6.30 o'clock. All Saints' Church.— There will be a full choral service at All Saints' Church this evening, the Eev E. A. Liugard officiating. The sermon will be preached by the Rev T. Flavell. Mr. Curias at Motukka..— Mr Curtis held a highly successful meeting at Motueka last uight, Mr Parker in the chair. A vote of confidence in him was carried unanimously, - > Resident Magistrate's Court. — A number of civil cases, possessing little interest for the public were disposed of before the Resident Magistrate, to-day. Regatta Club. — The members of this Club are required to meet at tiie Customhouse Hotel, on Friday evening next, at half-past seven, there being business of importance to transact. Eclipse of the Moon.— There was a j total eclipse of the moon at, au early hour tbis morning, which was plainly visible in i Nelson, the atmosphere being very clear at tbe time. We' very much regret that the reference to ~Tt Tri the almanacks had escaped our notice, and that we did not I call attention to it yesterday. Bazaar. — Tbe sale of the numerous articles so kindly contributed by those who have for some time beeu interesting themselves in the Bazaar in aid of the funds for the Wakapuaka Church, and for the repairs of Chrißt Churoh Parsonage is proceeding most satisfactorily. Tbe luncheon and supper-room is doing a thriving trade, strawberries and cream, and . all sorts of delicaces being obtainable there at all hours of the day and night at the most reasonable rates. We notice that there will be an auction sale to-nighc, commencing afc 9 o'clock, of all articles not previously disposed of. Upper Moutere. — Mr Kerr's meeting at this place was well attended, Mr A, Tucker in the chair. Mr Kerr. on coming , forward said his reasons for offering himself as a candidate for the Provincial Council were that he bad long been dissatisfied with tbe slow und sleepy manner in which things in general hud been ducted in tbe Province of .*, Nelson, comparing it with the otber provinces of New Zealand , while he admitted there was credit due to Nelson for her educational system, although even in that there was room ior improvement. With regard to railways, Mr Kerr said he wouid endeavor to carry oiit a go-a-head policy, and by all means advocate railways for Nelson. Several questions were put to the candi- •• , date, all of which be replied to in a satis- \
factory manner. The following resolution waß carried unanimously :----" That Mr Kerr is a fit and proper person to represent the district in the TProviricial Council." A vote of thanks to 'the chairman terminated tbe meeting.
