SUPREME COURT.

[Before "His Honor Mr Justice Richmond.] IN BANKRUPTCY. Fridat, October 31. In re William Prdssing of Pakawau, Golden Bay, miner, lately trading at Karamea and Anatori as " R. Jones " Mr Fell moved for an order of adjudication herein. Causes of insolvency: — Losses sustained through bad debts due from miners, and by reason of two cargoes of goods shipped for Karamea having been lost on the voyage. Mr Fell asked that tbe insolvent might not be required to attend at the first meeting of creditors, as the insolvent would thereby be obliged to stay in Nelson out of employment till that time, or to spend the whole of the interval in going home and returning hero. There was not likely to be any opposition in the case, as the principal creditor, Mr Franzen, was satisfied that this was a bona fide case of misfortune, and at meetings of creditors, aa far aa his (Mr Fell's) experience went, the insolvents were never asked a question. They merely attended to make a formal surrender, which his Honor might appoint to take place in this case immediately.

His Honor said that if a first meeting of creditors meant anything, it meant that the insolvent should there meet his creditors face to face, and offer himself for examination, and that it was not advisable to vary the usual order. Order of adjudication absolute, "''•-..-' First meeting at Nelson, on Monday, November 10, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Bankrupt to surrender at same time and plaoe.
