Dl SOLUTION OF THE PROVINCIAL Council — The Gazette of Thursday last contains a proclamation by the Governor dissolving the Provincial Council of Nelson. Cricket.— An intere a tino: one-inninga match was played at the Botanical Gardens on Saturday afternoon, between the eleven ,of the Union Club who are to play against Motueka to-morrow, and sixteen other Nelßon men. The sixteen went to the witkeis Oret, and were disposed of for 62 rune, 36 of which were byes. The eleven however contrived to run up 58 only, thus losing the game by four rune. There was room for improvement in the playing ou both sides, but this will probably be remedied by practice, this being only the commencement of the season.
