To tub Editok of the Nelsok Evenino Mail, Sir —Let nnybody go dov/u to the Govern meut Wharf and see the alterations going on there. The Government are trying to do an impossibility, endeavoring to make a now p'atforrn out of an old one. Why, anybody of ten years old would know better. There is not a sound plank on it in tbe whole lot, they are rotten to the core. They'are putting new feet under it, and before the job has been completed three months the new timber will have found ita way through the old. Why not
