Wellington, October 13. Mr Bathgate haß been appointed Secretary of Crown Lands in place of Mr O'Rorke. The Provincial Government has arranged for an overdraft with the Rank of Zealand for £50,000; and for £100 000, to be secured on reclaimed land, from the Australian Mutual Provident Society, under tbe Reclaimed Lands Act passed last session. The William Tapecott has been declared seaworthy, and nn unusually strong ship, by the carpenter of H.M.B. Pearl, and Tbirkell, a Bbip carpenter of the city. The three men who refused duty have been sent on board. The Court was packed with people all day. The captain was hooted outside. October 14.
