Resident Magistrate's C- uet. — James Lang, charged with obtai . ing the sum of £4 from Mr Trask, butch -: •, under false pretences, was this morning- sentenced to one month's imprisonment. Thomas v. Edwards. —In another column wili be found a full report of the judgment delivered by his Honor Mr Justice Richmond in this ca3e on Friday Jast. The decision is one ef considerable importance, especially to those who are in any way interested in what are known as sheep agreements. Collingwood. —An excellent opportunity of visiting Collingwood will be afforded this week by the Lady Barkiy, which wili arrive thero at noon on Wednesday, aod remain uutil ten p.ra. on Friday. By the arrival of the Tararua at the Bluff, and the Hero at Auckland, our columns are to-day inundated with Engiish and Australian telegrams, amongst which will be found many items of great interest and importance. The pressure on our space prevents our giving a report of the proceedings of the Supreme Court to-day in Bankruptcy, and in Banco. We shall, however, remedy this omission to-morrow.
