PROVINCIAL.

Auckland, September 30. The steamer S'. Kilda was launched today after undergoing extensive alterations. She has been iucreastd 24 feet in length, giving an extended tonnage of 50 tons. She has a new iron poop, and is almost a new vessel, while she draws two feet less water than before. Admiral Roussand, of the Atlanta, landed officially to-day, and was received by the Mayor. Considerable difficulty has been experienced in obtaining a suitable place of reception. It was arranged to use the Government Houbp, but a telegram was received from Dr Pollen stnting that tbe Governor declined to allow it to be used for the purpose.
