Wellington, September 30. In the Legislative Council yesterday, in reply to an observation by tbe Hon. The Premier explained that the Government had derided to take no further . action in regard to loans this session. In the House last night the Supplementary Estimates were considered, amounting to £417,060. Unauthorised

exppndifcure, £57,563, and additional Supplementary Estimates for puMic buildings, £83,41.3 passed; £5000 for trigonometrical surveys was struck out. A Bill is to be introduced next session for the purpose. £5000 for a Queensland mait service passed by accident by 14 to 13, two members goiug by mistake into the wrong lobby. The Extradition of Criminals Bill was read the second time, committed, and read the third time. The Native Land Claims Rehearing Bill was committed. The Native Grantees Bill was committed and read the third time. The Justices of ihe Peace Act was read the third time. [from a correspondent.] A Bill entitling the holders of agricultural leases on the Nelson Goldfieldß to s renewal of lease, and to Crown Grants free at the end of the second term, has now passed in both Houses.
