You* g Conqueror, by Koyal Conqueror (imported), is out of Mr. Henry Kedwood's wellknnwn mare Jolly, by England's Hope (import d); grand-dam by Old Captain (imported); great grand-dam, a Vaa Diemen's Land mare. Royal Conqueror, a pure Clydesdale, took the first prize at Battersea as a two-year-old, at the United Exhibition of the Royal Agricultural Society of England, and the Royal Highland Society, and was therefore entitled to be regarded as the best colt in England and Scotland in his year. He was selected and imported for Mr H. Kedwood by the Hon. W. Robinson. England's Hops has left in Nelson some of the best cart stock ever bred lure, and his excellence as a sire is universally admitted. Captain, or " Old Captain," the name he came to be known by, was a horse of rare excellence and his stock were always eagerly sought alter. Jolly, dam of Young Conqueror, took the prize for cart fillies in Nelson two years in succession, and the colt himself took the first prize in Marlborough, Will travel the Waimeas, and visit Wakapuaka and Motueka if sufficient inducement offer.
