The s.s. Wallace leaves Greymouth to-night for Westport and Nelson. The p.s. Charles Edward was to leave Manukau this afternoon for Wangnnui, where she loads stock for the West Coast ports. The schooner Waihopai arrived here on Saturday evening, having left Wanganui on Friday morning. She 1 rings a cargo of cattle. We are Indebted to Captain C. Evans for latest dates of Wanganui papers. The N.Z.5.3. Co.'s s.s. Wellington, M. Carey, commander, arrived last night at 8,30 p.m. She left Port Chalmers at 4 pm. on the 16th inst., arrived at Lyttelton at 11.30 p.m. on the 17th, left at 6.30 p.m, on the 18tb, called in at the Kaikoura at 6 a.m. next day, and landed four passengers, arriving at Wellington at 4.45 p.m. Left Wellington at 2.40 p m on the 20th, arrived pt Picton at 7.45 pm„ left again at 740 am, arrived off the Lighthouse at 5.30 p.m. yesterday, and entered the harbor at the hour above mentioned. Experienced light easterly winds with heavy rain throughout the voyage. The s.s Murray, W. Conway, Commander, left Nelson for the usual West Coast trip on Thursday September 11 at noon, arriving off Westport at 8 a.m following morning, crossed the bar at 10 am.; discharged cargo and sailed for Hrkitika at 10 pm. same evening, arriving off there at 8 a.m. following morning, and crossed the bar at noon; discharged cargo an.i sailed for Greymouth at 2 pm. on Sunday, arriving there at 4 p.m. same day ; owing to bad weather could rot land cargo before Wednesday, took in a cargo of coals, but owing to the bad Etate of the bar could not leave until Thursday at 6 p.m., arriving off Westport at 1 a.m following morning; crossed the bar at 7 a.m., and sailed for Nelson at 11 a.m. same day, arriving here at 8 a.m. on Saturday morniDg.
