Sir— The Committee purpose holding on the 25th November next, an Exhibition, having seven Departments, viz, Horticultural, Fine Arts and Photography, Mineral end Geological; Industrial, Ladies Industries, Natural History, and Poultry ; each Department to be under the control of a Special Committee. : ' The Horticultural Show will be held in a Marquee in front of the Proviucial Hall; the Exhibition^ in the Hall, and in such other annexes as the Government may allow for the purpose. The Committee hope to receive liberal support from the Nelson public in their efbrts to foster local industry and talent, to enable them to devote a considerable sum towards Prizes for presentation to successful exhibitors. It is proposed to invite gentlemen to give short Lectures on various subjects of general interest in connection with the Exhibition. There will also be Musical performances, and various other attractions for visitors, The Committee request your aid particularly in the matter of Special Prizes for excellence in the pursuit or industry you may desire to encourage or promote ; several gentlemen have already- come forward and assisted in this way. A list of Special Prizes will be published in the newspapers. Will you kindly take the matter into your consideration, and by the mean? suggested help to make the Nelson Exhibition, 1873— what the Committee wish it to be— a perfect success.
