To the Editor of the Nelson Evening: Mail. Sik —ln this morning's JExaminer, under the heading " The vote on the Tariff," there ia a paragraph which is ■"■likely to mislead the public. Therein " among the members from this province who voted for the ten per cent., and against the seven and a half per cent. duties appears the name of Mr Parker. The telegram giving the result of the division clearly stated that Mr C. Parker voted against the higher rate, the other member of the same name, Mr G. B. Parker, of Canterbury, voting for it, and as no initials appear before the name as given in the Examiner, it would generally be taken that it referred to the member -for Motuekn. As new blood has recently been infuaed into the editorial staff of the Examiner, I surmise that the error is accidental and not intentional. I am, &c, Seven and a-half. Nelson, August 23.
