Wellington, August 5. The Nelson deputation waited on the Premier, and urged that the Greymouth Coal Company should be established with a central agency here. The wreck of the Rangitoto was cold to-day for £465 ; Mr. Hartmann was the purchaser on behalf of the New Zealand Steam Shipping Company. It is believed that the Rangitoto ran be raisedj and eraployed in the local trade. The Chairman of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce telegraphs that the Auckland commuoity is opposed to the new tariff. Taurangn, August 4. Native affiirs are quiet. A Masonic lodge is to be started here shortly. Grahamstown, August 4, The case of specimen RteaJing is being beard. Four youths are concerned; two gave Queen's evidence. Pressure is being brought to bear with & view of securing railway cn'mmunication between the Thames end Waikato districts.
