Sir — I venture to suggest that the word "revise" be substituted for •'reject" in the petition beforo being sent to Wellington, for 1 am cure that was really the opinion of the meeting on Friday last, for it was almost unanimously agreed that the "ad valorem" duty was more equitable than the measurement, but that it had been imposed without discrimination.
