Bluff, August 2. The Alhambra left Melbourne on Sunday, Ju'y 27, with the English mails ex Baroda, arrived off the Bluff nt 10 o'clock Jasd night, and came to the wharf at 7 am. to-day. She was detained in Melbourne 24 hours for the Engli.-h mail. She brings 32 saloon and 25 steerage passengers, and 413 tons cargo for all ports, including 50 tons for Nelson. Passengers for Nelson: Mr and Mrs Patterson. Christchurch, August 2. Borse, Stead & Co quote oats 4/6 to 4/10; barley, 6/6; butter, 1/1; cheese, BJd; flour, £12 to £12 10s; all free on board. Stocks light. "Wellington, August 2, The Bangitoto was insured for £10.000 with the Sou'hern Insurance Company. The maiis will go by the Luna to Dunedin, and the Alhambra will return to Melbourne with them immediately. The Ladybird went yesterday to the wreck of the Rangitoto. Three parts of the funnel and the forecastle deck are above water. The wreck and fittings are to be auctioned on Monday. The Napier is now at the wreck saving cargo for the insurers. There were 170 tons for Wellington. An enquiry has been held, and the captain and mate were censured* and admonished.
