Wellington, July 21. The Volunteer Land Act repeals the Volunteer Land Act of 1865. The Joint Stock Companies Act amendment Act makes the Act apply to associations for banking purposes out of New Zealand. V The Iron Sand Company have obtained all they required from the Taranaki Government, The lease has been modified so as to grant great concessions to the Company. Shares are being rapidly taken up. Mr Smith' visits the southern provinces to canvass. Operations will be commenced immediately. ' Dunedin, July 21. Tenders have been accepted for £12,000 of corporation debentures at an average of £101 10s. Mr David Proudfoot is the successful tenderer for the new railway wharf and reclamation works at Port Chalmers. Auckland, July 21. Arrived : Phoebe, after a passage of four days eighteen hours from Sydney. She brings sixteen passengers, and a full cargo for all ports.
