Wellington, July 17. The report by Mr Carruthers gives the estimate of Ihe revenue of the Nehon and Foxhill Railway at £8000 per anuum, and the workiug expenses including renewals, at £7000 The Engineer-in-Chief, in reporting upon the railways, estimates the working expenses of the Brunuer Coal Mine Railway at £4000. It will require tbe production of 23,000 tons for two years to pay the workiog expenses. Dunkdin, July 17. Mr McPherflon has been killed by a railway train. George Calder, charged with personation, baa been acquitted. The Chamber of Commerce has resolved to petition Parliament to modify the arrangements with M'Meekan and Blaekwood for the delivery of the Otago Suez mails. If the Government refuse, the Chamber will request the vSuperinlendent to co-operate for securing arrangements more favorable to Ota<jo.
