The Rev Ma Buddle's subject for to-morrow evening's service at the Wesleyan Church, Har<Jy-sl,reet, will be "Human Responsibility." Mb Calcutx's Rkport. — We ore informed on wbat we believe to be good authority tltnt the report furnished by Mr Calcutt to the Government respecting tho value of the land in the Buller and Grey Valieye, is 'highly favorable. The report, . y? e presume, will shortly be published. Mb Handyside's Invention, — Letters ; have been received by the Suez m«il from Mr Handyfeide, who has arrived in London, and submitted his invention to Mr Brun- . lees "who is considered the top man in ; : rEogland »as consulting engineer." JVJr ; Handyside's report is that "he has made himself perfect master of it, and has not
been able to .find any fault, or even suggest an alteration. Hiß last words were — 'I can say this much that I think you have got hold of a good thing.' " Mr Brunlees has undertaken to furnish a written report upoirthe invention."
