London, June 28. — The next wool sales will commence on the 10th prox. One hundred and seventy-seyen thousand bales have arrived to date. Market remains unchanged- Continental demand good. Tallow dull of sale; mutton, 42s v per cwt.; beef, 403. During the month 1200 sixes Australian sold. Best hides show a decliue of one farthing per lb. on previous rates ; others unchanged, Adelaide wheat is worth 63s per four ninety-six lbs. New Zealand hemp has fallen during the month 50s per ton. July 1. — Cholera is reported at Vienna and Venice. Great Engineers' strike at Newcastle. The decrease of the quarter's revenue amounts to three-quarters of a million. The Lords rpjected a motion for founding an order of merit to literary men. Khiva is in the hands of the Russians. The Petersburg Government gives an assurance to England that there is no intention to occupy it. The Shah of Persia has visited Liverpool and proceeds to Paris. There is a great lock-out of cotton spinners at Staleybridge. The Atlantic cable has been successfully laid. There has been an earthquake at Venice. Churches and several buildings have been thrown down and fifty persons killed and wounded. The neighboring villages were injured by the shock. The Tichbourne case is still proceeding. The balance of testimony seems in favor of the defence. The House of Lords has rejected Russell's Irish Bill. The large New South Wales gold venture has been floated; the London capital amounts to £200,000. Sir Samuel Baker has telegraphed that the African country, as far as the equator, has been annexed to Egypt. Country quiet. The anti-slavery mission has been successful. Coals are advancing. Discount six ; money easy. Stocks, colonial, without change. Wheat, Adelaide .61a to 635. Flax depressed. CONTINENTAL. The monasteries and convents have been suppressed at Rome. A new Ministry has been formed. Spain. — The Carlists have routed 2000 Government troops. The French Bank note circulation has been increased by eighty million of francs. The Emperor William has recovered from his illness.
