WHEREAS, by " lhe Protection of Animals Act, 1867," it is provided that no GAME shall be Hunted, Shot, Taken, or Killed, in any part of the - Colony, until the same shall have been Proclaimed as Open for that purpose : Now therefore I, Oswald Curtis, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in exercise of the power and authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby Proclaim and Declare that PHEASANTS and QUAIL may be SHOT during the month of JUNE next, by persons duly licensed under the above recited Act, or authorised by "The Protection of Animals Act, 1872," in that part of the Province of Nelson included within the undermentioned boundaries, viz.— Commencing at Reef Harbor, Torrent Bay; thence in a straight line to- the summit of Mount Campbell ; thence by the boundary of the South-west Goldfields to the junction of the Rivers Hope and Buller; thence in a straight line to the Tophouse; thence by the boundaries - between the Provinces ;of * Nelson and Marlborough to the sea; thence by the sea coast to Reef Harbor. ....*■ Given under my hand, and issued under the '.
