London, May 23 — The Australian Customs Bill has passed the second reading in the House of Lords. The motion for the disestablishment of the English Church was lost by a majority of nearly 300., A large quantity of gold has been withdrawn from the Continent. Money panics have occurred in Russia, Germany, Austria, and Turkey, and the stock exchange is uneasy. Discount, 5 per cent. There is a general depression in the stocks. Mr Goulard and Mr Simon, the French Ministers of the Interior and of Instruction have resigned. . Wool is firm at the latest quotations, but the "demand is slack. Adelaide wheat 64s to 665. j Copper £92; sperm oil £96.
