Victoria Football Club. — The members of this Club are invited Jto attend a meeting to be held in their rooms this evening, for the election of officers for the ensuing season, at half-past seven. Mb. George Cotterell. — We are glad to find that this talented and popular actor purposes giviDg one of his delightful entertainments prior to his leaving Nelson on a professional tour. Baptist Church, Bridge-street. — On Sunday, to-morrow, the Eev. T. R. Fisher, of Christchurcb, will preach (d.v.) in the morning and the Rev. D. Dolamore in the evening. Citt Election. — The nomination of candidates for the seat in the Provincial Council, rendered vacant by the resignation of Mr Luckie, will take place at the Provincial Hall on Monday, at noon. Mr Acton Adams is the only one at present in the field, and is not likely to meet with opposition. Wesletan Church Hardy- street.- — Special Services will be held in the Weslevan Church, Hardy- street, to commence to-morrow. The Rev. T. Buddie will preach morning and evening. Inland Communication Committee. — A meeting was held last night when Mr Rolleston's telegram, which we published yesterday, was read, and it was resolved to send a deputation to Christen urch to confer with the Canterbury Government. A resolution was also passed recommending that the town end of the railway should be taken round by the port, and the terminus be at the spot selected in. Trafalgar-street North.
