_ o (feom our own correspondent.) j Tbe weather during the past week has | been all that could be desired for mining operations, and consequently all the machines have been fully employed. The Westland machinery, which is -operating on the Inglewood quartz bas put through about 170 tons in all, and judging from the appearance of the tables there will be a good return. At Anderson's the maohinery has been kept. constantly going for the past three weeks, and they intend washing up about the end. of the present month, and it is confidently expected that they will have from 500 to 600 ounces for the month's crushing. Some men, while fossicking in one of the, small blind vgullies near the Westland old ..claim, came across a huge boulder of very ridh quartz.
