TO THE ELECTORS OF THE SURBUBAN ELECTORAL DISTRICT. Gentlemen— lt is with much regret I have to inform you. that it has become necessary for me to resign the honor of being your Representative in the Parliament of New Zealand. - My reason for taking a step so much regretted ; by me is, that owing to urgent private affairs which require my immediate departure for England, I shall be -unable to take my seat this next session. Being most unwilling that your interests should suffer through the absence of your Representative, I have lost no time in placing my resignation in the hands of the Speaker, in order that you may have ample time afforded you to elect another member for the district. Allow me, Gentlemen, to take this opportunity of thanking you for the confidence, so honorable to me, which you have reposed in me, and to express a hope that I am permitted at some future time to return to New Zealand I may have the gratification ot meeting you all once more, and enjoying again that cordial friendship and good will which has hitherto existed between us, and which has been to me a source of unmixed pleasure.
