CORRESPONDENCE.

CHURCH, NURSERY, OR PLAYGROUND ? To the Editor of the Nelson Evening Mail. Sib — I am a constant attendant at Christ Church, and should take it as a favoi if you would allow me space in your columns to suggest to parents that a church is scarcely a fitting place for children of such tender years as I there see without someone to look after them. *They cannot be expected to pay any attention to, or derive any benefit from the service, while everyone in their immediate neighborhood iB disturbed and annoyed by their fidgeting and chattering. I may also, perhaps, be allowed to say that there are others who are in the habit of attending- the same place vof worship who are old enough to know better than to conduct 7 themselves as ; they do. They are a disgrace to themselves and their parents., and a nuisance to those who are unfortunate enough toi be seated near them. If .they do not exhibit some improvement in. their behaviour, I shall ask you on a future occasion to allow me to allude to them byname, ;,; . TO Titß EDiIOB OF THE NELSON EVENING MalL* Srk — The AEveniHg Mail, of Saturday last, contains a paragragh headed * f Serious Consequences of a Fight." I beg to say that you have been misinformed, and that the injuries I am now suffering from were caused by an unexpected blow received from behind as I was going through the stable-door after an altercation with the ostler, and not, as you would have inferred, in a fight, By inserting this you will oblige Yours. &c, Hamilton Hope. Nelson Hospital, March 31, 1873.
