The steamer Ladybird arrived at the Manukau bringing the English Mail. London, March 23. — The Liverpool wool sales show a decline of twopence for best class, a penny, for medium. The attendance was good. The Right Honorable Gathorne Hardy brought forward in the House of Commons a motion to the effect that the Government of Great Britain should inform other powers they dissent from the principle of the Geneva award, ps the rules ofthe treaty of Washington render the observance of neutrality impossible. Forster Jessel replied that ifc would be polite to ask America to withdraw the rules and substitute others ; then jointly submit them for ratification to the'great Powers. Hardy's motion was ultimately withdrawn. The Queensland Meat Preserving Company are issuing 8 per cent debentures, amonnting to £14,000.
