OddfelloW Hall. — Professor Louis, from Chiarini's circus, will give an entertainment at tbe Oddfellows' Hall tomorrow evening The Richmond Agricultural Hall was crowded on the occasion of Dr Carr's seance last night. So much interest was manifested that the Doctor will again lecture on Saturday evening next. Volunteeb Reception Committee. — The final meeting of the Committee will he held to-night, when members are requested to attend with all the subscriptions received by tbem. Inland Communication Committee. — A meeting of tbis Committee is called for to-morrow evening, when it is hoped that there will be a full attendance of members, as matters requiring immediate action to be taken will be laid before the meeting. Miss Aitken. — This lady will give another of her entertainments to-morrow evening when she will receive the assistance of several lady and gentlemen, amateurs, who have chosen this method of showing tbe esteem in which they hold 1 a lady possessing euch undoubted talents as does Miss Aitken. The Races.— The Nelson race meeting which takes place to-morrow and on the following day, promises to be a great success, the entries being numerous and including the names of several horses of colonial repute. The first event of the. mee ting, the Handicap Hurdle Race, is looked forward to with great interest, no less than seven horses having accepted. The Grand Stand will, no doubt, be more largely patronised than on any previous occasion, the lessee having made a considerable reduction in the charges that have hitherto been made for admission. It will be seen that a second hurdle race is advertised to take place on Thursday. The public, it is hoped, will render their assistance iu making up the amount necessary to secure this additional race. . The Carandinis. — The pressure on our space prevents our giving more than a very brief notice of the entertainment given last night by this little company which is always welcome in Nelson. Of the ladies it is only necessary now to say tbat tbeir voices are as sweet and their singing as charming as ever, while the performance on the piano by the sisters Rosina and Fannie iB more brilliant tban ever in the execution. Mr. Gordon who possesses a J ". powerful bass voice is a great acquisition to the company, and Mr Sherwin's singing is quite as pleasing as ever it was. We hope to see a full house to-night, and can assure all who are disposed to attend that by doing so they will secure the enjoyment of a real treat.
