Public Notices. DESIGN FOR LUNATIC ASYLUM. Superintendent's Office, Nelson, February 10, 1873. THE Provincial Government hereby offer a Premium of Fotity Guineas for the Best DESIGN for a LUNATIC ASYLUM suitable for the requirements of this Province, and Ten Guineas for the Second Best design. Designs must inc-ude Elevation and Ground Plans of a.building capable of accommodating One Hundred Patients, but must be so arranged that a portion of the building sufficient for say Fifty Patients may be erected in the first instance. • Designs must be sent in on or before MONDAY, the 31st March next, accompanied by an estimate of cost with sufficient data to check the general correctness of the estimate. No Design will be considered if the estimated cost of the portion of the building required for' Fifty Patients exceeds £4000. The Provincial * Government will decide upon the relative merits of the Designs submitted, and no competitor will be considered to have, any claim to be employed in the supervision or erection of the building.
