Sweepstakes. — Sweepstakes in connection with the colonial prize firing will take place at the Masonic Hotel at 8 o'clock, this evening. With so large, a field and so many events there should be some good stakes. , Mesmbkism:. — Dr. Carr purposes to give ,two farewell seances at the Masonic Hall on the evenings of Wenesday and Friday next. These entertainments are generally very popular, and with so many strangers in the town Dri Carr may look for a full house. " Ball to Volunteer Competitors. — As already intimated it is intended to give a Ball to the Volunteer Representatives at present in Nelson. All the necessary arrangements have been made, except as to fixing the date, which we believe will be advertised to-morrow. From what we have heard, there is no doubt that the Ball will be a very successful and brilliant affair.
