Wellington, February 24. Arrived : Albion from Lyttelton, with boats for the interprovincial regatta. She sails for Nelson to-day. Gbeymouth, February 24. The Rangatira has arrived from Wellington, and is loading with coal for that port. Timaru, February 24. Wheat 4s ; oats Is 9d to 2s. Grain is coming in rapidly. Port Chalscers, February 24. j Sailed, yesterday, Taranaki for North. William Preston, a passenger by the Charlotte Gladstone, died of typhoid fever on the Quarantine Island. The vessel is alongside the railway pier. Dunedin, February 24. The miners at the Kaitangata coalmine bave struck for higher wages. An Early Settlers' Association has been formed. Napier, February 24. The Daily Telegraph, strongly condemns the practice of the New Zealand Press Association of keeping back telegrams from evening journals. G-eahamstown, February 24. The Thames Advertiser says that the Press Association is directly under ministerial influence, and that some system is required free from such control.
