None of them insured. The fire originated in a brothel. Welikgton, February 10. Owing to a blunder, tbe salmon ova were not shipped by the Lutterworth. The Independent of this morning fays tbat Nelson is nothing without pettifogging, and accuses jfche Nelson men of wanting to cut up the first fourteen miles of the railway under the Waimea contract into small sections. There have been heavy gales, and the new sea wall in Custom House-street ia washed away. Considerable damage is caused to tbe railway, and reclamation works at Fort Britomart.
