Mtjekay's Circus. — Notwithstanding the numerous attractions in other directions, there was a good attendance at the circus last night, when, as usual, the performance gave the greatest satisfaction, the ridiog of Miss Murray, and the wonderful performances of the gymnasts being the principal features in the evening's proceedings. There will be another performance this evening, which we hope to see well attended, for it is one that well deserves the patronage of the public.
Narrow Escape from Fire. — Yesterday, at about one o'clock, smoke was seen issuing from the roof of Mr Nesbitt's house in the Wood by Mr Harris, who, on finding the family all out, burst open the door, and found the bedroom on fire, the bedding, beds, and sundry articles of clothing being destroyed. With the assistance of a few neighbors, the flames, the origin of which remains a mystery, were extinguished before any further damage was done.
