CRICKET.

A match was played at Motueka on Friday last, between the Wakefield and Motueka clubs. The former could not muster their full number, and had to obtain the services of two Riwaka men. The bowling was exceedingly good on both sides, which accounts for the small scores obtained. The fielding of the Motueka eleven was admirable, and much better than that of Wakefield, but the latter excelled in the defence of their wickets. After the match, the players sat down to a capital dinner provided in host Flowers' best style. The following are the scores.
