EVERY owner of SHEEP shall in the month of JANUARY in each year make a RETURN to the CHIEF INSPECTOR, of the number |of Sheep in his charge in the Province of Nelson, on tbe First day of January in such year; and shall in the month of FEBRUARY in each year, pay or cause to be paid to the Treasurer of the Province, a Bum .of money at the rate of Three Shillings per Hundred for all Sheep in his charge upon the First day of January in each year; and in default thereof the same may be sued for in the name of any Inspector, and the proof of tbe number of Sheep in his charge shall rest with defendant.
