Auckland Goldfields. — The returns from the Thames goldfielcls show a large increase in the quantity of gold obtained during tbe month of December over tbe month preceding it, aad that again was an increase of 1030 ounces ou the October month. Speaking upon, such a favorable turn in mining affairs on this field, the Thames morning journal says : — " There is' no doubt but that tbe number of comparatively small crushings which have been completed during the month have tended in a great degree to swell the total,. but we mnst not omit to notice that there have been several very heavy returns from a fow of the leading mines. Of ; these, the most .prominent is undoubtedly that obtained from the Cure, which, from 200 tons of stone, gave the astounding return of 2031 ozs. 11 dwts., thus enabling the directors of that company to declare and pay a handsome dividend of
