THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that it is the intention of the G-overnment to proclaim and declare the 9th and 10th sections of "The Nelson Scab Act, 18G8," to be in operation throughout the Province of Nelson on and after the l6t day of MAY next, excepting only that portion of the Nelson Southwest Goldfields comprised within the following bouncaries, viz. — Commencing at the mouth of the river Grey on the sea coast; thence by the sea coast to the mouth of the river Karamea; thence up the Karamea river to a point known as the Karamea Band; thence in a straight line to the junction of the rivers Wangapeka and JJart; thence in a straight line to the junction of the rivers Buller and Hope; thence following the boundary of the Nelson South-we^t Goldfields to the boundary of the County of Westland; thence by the boundary of the said county to the source of the river Arnold; thence by the rivers Arnold and Grey to the sea coast. ANY PERSON who may DISCOVER within the Province A WORKABLE SEAM OF TRUE STEAM COAL in an accessible position for transport by land to the Port of Nelson WITHIN SEVENTY-FIVE MILES of the town boundary. The attention of explorers is requested to the above expression, True Steam Coal, as abundance of brown and other coal of inferior quality is already known to exist within the described limits. ON and after the FIRST day of JANUARY 1873, NO SHEEP -will be allowed to ENTER, the Province of Nelson by way of the TOP HOUSE ROAD UNTIL THEY HAVE BEEN INSPECTED AT THE BOUNDARY within the Province of Marlborough by an Inspector appointed by the Nelson Government.
