The Argus censures Mr Vogel for professing to be the mouthpiece of the Australian colonies in a despatch to Earl Kimherley. Mount and Morris were found guilty of manslaughter, after the jury had deliberated for four hours. Sentence is deferred. Mary Devanish, charged with the murder of an infant, is acquitted. Mr Coppins projects a grand musical intercolonial festival in the Town Hall. A disastrous fire has occurred at Stockyard Creek. The new rush is more extensive than was at first believed to be thecase,and a Warden is urgently required.
' - Sydney. A rumor is abroad that Hall's tender for the Califomiah service is * the -lowest, that of the A.S.N. Company being : ~tbe next. It is stated that Hall is supported by a firm in the Eastern trade. Adelaide. A rich discovery ot malleable copper and diamond oxide has been made at the Moonta mines. Wheat 4s 6d for delivery in January ; 4s 8d immediate.
