Large Native Meeting in the Waikato.— -The Waikato Times says — "About one hundred and 'fifty Nagatihaua Hauhaus passed through Cambridge on the 10th December, with, three ot four cart loads of mataitai (dried fish) for the meeting which is to be held at Maungatautari shortly. From the ■ extensive preparations which they appear to be making, it is likely that this meeting will be the largest held since the war: - Tribes from all parts of the Northern Island have been invited, and are expected. to be, "present. The natives have also repaired the roads in places beyond the confiscated boundary, so that the;visitbrs, both European and Maoris, may travel comforjably. - This, alone is a step inrtheright.direction."
