Town Schools,— The prizes will be presented by his Honor the Superintendent in front of the Prov incial Hall,at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, when it is to be hoped that there will be a large attendance of the parents and general public. " St Mary's Bazaar. — The attendance at the bazaar was somewhat meagre yesterday as compared with that of the previous day as was shown by the receipts ■which only'amounted to between £50 and £60. The Bazaar will be kept open tomorrow afternoon and evening, when a number of the articles then remaining unsold will be put up to auction. • San Francisco Mail.— The Wellington is under orders to start direct from Manukau to Wellington with the Southern mails this morning, so that the Nelson portion may be expected here by the Taranaki on Sunday. Due notice will be hereafter given of the date of departure of the outward mail. . Accident. — An accident occurred this afternoon to Mr Haycock, the Motueka -mail carrier, who, when driving round the Postoffice corner at a trot, dropped one of the reins owing to their having come unbuckled, and seeing that he had lost control over his horses he jumped out to endeavor to stop them when he fell and the wheel passed over him breaking one of his ribs and bruising his thigh, but we are glad to hear that he has sustained no more serious injuries. Wjestland County Council. — They • seem- to get excited ever their elections on the West Coast.
