St Mary's Bazaak. — The total amount received at the bazaar yesterday was about £90..^ s SuW'Mail.— The Alhambra will leave Wellington for Nelson to-night, and sail from here for Melbourne with the Suez mail at noon to-morrow. Nelson Regatta. — There was a good attendance at the meeting of the Club last night, when it was resolved that the shore sports should receive. more attention this year than on previous occasions. There will be another meeting to-morrow evening, when a full attendance is requested, as it will be the last that will be held before the entries are received. Mesmerism.— Dr Carr gave another of his seances at the Assembly Room last night in the presence of a crowded audience. After the preliminary lecture there were the usual fantastic performances of those who placed themselves, under the power of the mesmerist. Dv Carr, we understand, intends proceeding to Blenheim whence he will return shortly and give another entertainment in Nelson. Haven Road School.— The examination took place at this school to-day (prior to the Christmas holidays), at the close of which the scholars presented the master, Mr. J. L. Hodgson, with a handsomely bound volume of Mitchlet's " Earth and Air," accompanied by the following note : December 19, 1872.
