[It is only fair to Mr. Curtis to remember that his powers as Minister were iar greater than those he possesses as Superintendent; still, if the rumor alluded to be correct, it would be well to know the nature of the negotiations proposed to be entered into with Mr Brogden aa such knowledge might be useful in determining what steps should be taken towards obtaining railway communication with the West Coast. — Ed.
