The Nelson Evening Mail. MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1872.
Political Meeting. — Mr. Luckie, M.H.R., notifies that he will address the electors in the Provincial Hall, on Friday evening next, at 8 o'clock. Oddfellows' Hall. — Mr, Bromley gnd Miss Neilson will give another entertainment on Friday evening next, when Miss Neilson will take her benefit. Special Settlements. — Mr. Brunner has been appointed by the Provincial Government to survey certain blocks of land in the Buller Valley fitted for the special settlements scheme, in order that they may be at once withdrawn from the Goldfields. Mr. Brunner started for the Buller this afternoon. Fatal Poisoning Case. — . News reached town yesterday afternoon that Mr. Small, of Todd's Bush, Wakapuaka, had poisoned himself by swallowing a quantity of bluestone, but whether it was an accident or intentionally done we have not been able to learn. The coroner, and Dr. Vickerman, who attended the dying man, and used every effort to save him, though ineffectually, proceeded to his house this morning, and we believe an inquest is to be held this afternoon.
