Steamer Tarartta. —■ The Tararua, which arrived at Hokitika from Melbourne this "morning, will reach here on Sunday, and sail for Wellington and the South on Monday. She has 54 tons of cargo for Nelson. The Governor's Memorandum. —ln publishing the Governor's memorandum, the Colonist, no doubt accidentally, leaves out the most important part—the postscript. We,call the attention of our contemporary to the fact in order that in his next issue he may remedy the unintentional injustice done to his Excellency id omitting tbe gem of his letter. Lunatic Asylum —About thirty;of the inmates of the Lunatic Asylum enjoyed yesterday what has now become an annual treat, namely, a drive to Wakefield.to the hospitable bouse of Mrs Hodgson. Although some of them had to be coaxed away from "home" in the morniDg, they returned,at night loud in their expressions of the delight they had experienced in the day's proceedings. To the exertions of the keeper and matron to cheer and enliven the party was largely owing its great success, while to their generous hostess, Mrs Hodgson, is due the gratitude of all. who partook of her bountiful hospitality.
