The Anchor Line Co's steamer Kennedy, 125 tons, B. B. Creagh, commander, left »lson for Wanganui on Thursday, 26th ult., at 9.3 up m ; went through the French Pass at 3 a.m. on Friday, strong ga!e and heavy sea from S.W.; at 3.30 brought up at Aineslcy'e; 1 1 a.m., got under weigh and proceeded to Rangitoto roadstead, where she anchored at 2 p.m. same day. Got under weigh again at 6 a.m. on Saturday, wind shifted into S.E with heavy sea, arriving off Wanganui Heads at 2 p.m.; at 5 p m. crossed the bar, and proceeded up the river, and at 6 p.m. berthed alongside the wharf. On Monday, landed cargo, and on Tuesday morning, took in 42 head cattle, 230 sheep, 20 pigs, 4 tons potatoes, 1 horse, S tons bran, and a quantity of butter and eggs, and left at 9.30 a.m. for Westport; JO a.m. cleared the bar. At 5 p.m., N.W. wind, and increasing to a gale, bore up for Blind Bay. Brought up at Totaranui at 8 a.m on Wednesday. At 6 p.m. hove up the anchor and proceeded**on the voyage, arriving off Westport at 6 p m. on Thursday, and crossed the bar at 8 pm.,'and landed 60 sheep. Left Westport same tide for Greymouth. Crossed the Greymouth bar at 9 a.m. on Friday. Landed stock, &c, took in 50 tons coal, and left for Nelson at 10 30 p.m. Experienced light S.E. winds and smooth water to abreast Big Elver, when the wind increased, and at 6 p.m. was blowing a brisk gale. Brought up under Curious Cliff. At midnight, wind S.E., a gale, attended with very heavy rain and squalls, barometer, 29.20. At 7 a.m. on Sunday, the weather moderating, hove up anchor; at 1 1.30 a.m. rounded Farewell Spit ; experienced strong S.E. with in the Bay, arriving alongside the wharf at 6.45 p.m.
