The Nelson Evening Mail. FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER, 27, 1872.

Erratum. — Mr. Augarde's sale of furniture, &(-., takes place to-morrow, and not to-day ns etatod under head " Sales by Auction " in our yesterday's issue.

Artizans' Association. — Tfao Nelson Artiznns propose giving one -of; iheir pleasing entertainments this evening, the proceeds to be devoted to the benefit of the ..widow and children of the late Francis Robinson. Tiie Rev. R. H. Gaskin. — The painful news was brought over from Golden Bay by the Lady Barkly this morning, that the Eev.-Mr. GaskiD, who had recently been appointed resident clergyman at Collingvvood, in the place of the Eev. H. Halcombe, hnd been missing since Tuesday last. On making inquiries we find that Mr. Gaskin left Paketwau on . Tuesday evening, at: about six o'clock ; with the intention of ioturnirg. to his home at Coliingwood, a distance of about twelve miles, but that up to the time of. tho steamer's departure yesterday, nothing had been heard or seen of hurt, although his horse, with the 'saddle au'd bridlo oa, had returned. Search, parties had been out, but their endeavors to find him had been unsuccessful, and there is only too much reason to fear that he was drowned either in fording tiie Aorere River, or a tidal creek that had to be crossed on his way home. Another search was to be made to-day, but it is very much to be feared that there is but little probability of his beiog found alive. The Bishop of iNeison, accompanied- by Mi 1 . Kempthorne, intends to proceed, to Coliingwood overland i to-day, arid we maybe sure that no pains will be spared in the endeavor to discover, cither the living or the dead body of one who was so universally beloved and respected as Mr. Gaskin.
