The Nelson Evening Mail. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 1872.
An interpretation has been placed upon Mr. Stafford's Ministerial statement by those inimical to the present Government to tbe effect that it is not their intention to proceed with the Nelson and Foxhill railway, but we are happy to bo able to state, on what appears to us to be perfect reliable authority, that the construction of this line is not imperilled in any way by the change of Ministry, but that it will be commenced as soon as is practicable. Mr. Stafford's statement, we are assured, has been received with much favor in Wellington, and, so far from having lost a number of supporters, as was rumored here a day or two ago, his party has been strengthened by the accession to to his side of one or two who voted against him in the late division.
