In Nnpier, 106 days, and 35 inches ; in Christchurch, 126 days and 27 inches ; in Southland, 144 days and 89 inches ; in Dunediu, 149 days and 22 inches ; at the Bealey, 167 days and 106 inches ; iv Wellington, IS3 days find 64 inches ; at Monsjonui, 185 days and 57 iuches ; iv Auckland, 194 days and 47 inches ; at Hokitika, 196 days and 122 inches ; and at Taranaki, 207 days and 72 inches.. The heaviest rainfall in 21 hours in Nelson was ou the sth October, when very nearly four inches were registered ; the largest quantity that fell in the s.'irae time during iheyuar throughout the colony being at the Bealey, when the to.tnl quantity was s}j inches. The number of days on which there were gales or high vvhid was, in Nelson, 40 ; in Wellington, 43 ; at Hokitikn, 49 ; Auckland, 4.4 ; Duuedin, 21 ; Southland, 11 ; Bealey, 78. Iv Nelson, there was. thunder on four days, snow on two, hail on one, and earthquakes on two. In Wellington, earthquake shocks were felt on 11 days. In Nelson, the maximum temperature in the shade that was recorded was 84 degrees on January 29, and the minimum 28 degrees oh August 19.
