The Nelson Evening Mail. WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 21, 1872.
Magistrate's Court. — The report of the proceedings in this Court to-day must stand over until to-morrow. Stoke. — Owing to the Bishop of Nelson having been appointed by the Central Board of Education, in conjunction with Mr Tarrant, to arrange certain matters connected with the school at Pangatotara, the lecture advertised to be given by his Lordship at Stoke is unavoidably postponed until next Wednesday evening. Supreme Court Witnesses. — In order to avoid the inconvenience that would be j occasioned to the witnesses from distant ports of the province by detaining them in Nelson until the money dus to them was received from the General Government, the necessary amount was advanced to the Registrar this morning from the Provincial Treasury, and the claimants were paid the respective sums owing to ihem. Wakepield. — The last of the Bishop of Nelson's series of lectures was delivered at Wakefield yesterday evening, Mr Bailment in (he chair. The room was well filled, and at the conclusion of the lecture, which was most attentively listened to throughout, a, vote of thanks to the Bishop was proposed by Mr Fittall, seconded by Mr Boddinglon, and carried unanimously.
