"PURSUANT to the Provieioijs of The EduJT cation Act, 1863,", the Superintendent directs it to be notified that the ANNUAL RATR imposed by tbe said Act, upon all Householders residing within Kducational Districts, will be LEVIED on SATURDAY, tbe 31st day of August, instant ; and that tbe same -will be received at the following places, between the hours of Ten a.m. and Four p.m., namely— Court-house. Nelson, by Alfred Hibble School- house, Clifton Terrace, Suburban North, by, Alexander Wragg Fcbool-house, Stoke,, by E. CressweH f . , - Agcicultiiral-Hallj Waimea-Eaat, by William Steer • ' School-house, Waimea West, by George Walker School-house, SpriDg Grove, by Charles Knapp School-house, Upper Moutere, by H. Bense- j mann s ' - Institute, Motueka, by ,T. F. Wilson ; School-house. Riwaka, by C. T. Pattie House of G. Taylor, Takaka, by G. The aforesaid Act requires that "every Householder, in each Educational District shall pay Annually TWENTY SHILLINGS, and a further sum of Five Shillings for every child of such House-holder between tbe ages of five and fourteen years : Provided always, that no person i shall be liable to pay for more than fonr children, nor for any child residing more ti.au three miles from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attending any school cot established under this Act, in respect of whom such persons shall produce to the Collector a certificate signed by the teacher of such school, showing that such child has attended during the three months previous to the levying of the rate."
